Oyo lawmaker commissions water projects

A member of the Oyo House of Assembly, representing Ogbomoso North State Constituency, Olawunmi Oladeji, has restated her commitment to bring more dividends of democracy to the people of her constituency.

She restated her commitment at the commissioning of two water projects valued at over N5 million, in Abepe, Osupa ward and Flavours Area, Saja/Isale-Ora ward, both in Ogbomoso, Oyo State.

Oladeji who was accompanied to the commissioning by her political leader and former governor of Oyo State, Otunba Adebayo Alao-Akala, said the projects became necessary in view of the sustainable development goals and post-COVID-19 palliative for people in her constituency.

The lawmaker also empowered over 1,000 entrepreneurs, farmers and artisans with cash to boost their businesses as part of the post-COVID-19 palliative for the people.

Oladeji said the business of the people had been seriously affected by COVID-19 pandemic and needed a boost.

“I decided to support the people with close to N10 million to boost their businesses. Coronavirus affected people’s businesses and almost collapsed their sources of livelihood; some of them who are traders have had challenges of coping, so we decided to help them with cash support.

“This is our own way of giving back to the people for their support during the last election. I have more plans for the people, it will excite them and make them have more confidence in our party the All progressive congress.

“I thank my leaders, His Excellency, Otunba Adebayo Alao-Akala, Senator Brimo Yusuff, Engr. Dayo Lawal, party leaders and supporters for joining me to commission the projects.”

She then disclosed that education palliative was on the way as well as more projects to be executed for the good people of Ogbomoso North State Constituency.

Otunba Alao-Akala, in his remarks, said the project commissioning was a way of giving back to the people and ensuring that they benefitted from good governance that Hon. Oladeji is bringing to the door step of the people.

“Hon. Oladeji have you all at heart and I am confident that she would continue to reach out to all of you in fulfillment of her campaign promises,” he said.
