The Federal Government has declared Monday, August 12 and Tuesday, August 13 as public holidays to enable Nigerians, particularly muslims celebrate this year’s Eid-el-Kabir.

Director of Press and Public Relations, Ministry of Interior, Mr Mohammed Manga, in a statement on Tuesday in Abuja, said the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Interior, Mrs Georgina Ehuriah, made the declaration of the two days as public holidays.

Ehuria, it was reported, called on all Nigerians to use the period of festivity to embrace the virtues of love, humility, peace and sacrifice as shown by the Holy Prophet (PBUH).

While restating the determination of the federal government to ensure peaceful co-existence in the country, she called on Nigerians to avoid any act that could cause chaos and disharmony.
