Legislators in the National Assembly have resumed sitting on Tuesday after about ten weeks recess.

The legislators went on recess on July 24.

Although they were originally scheduled to resume on September 25, the date was shifted to October 9.

The Clerk of the National Assembly, explained that the shift in the resumption date was because of the primaries of the different political parties which the legislators would need to participate in.

Normal plenary did not hold, however, as the Senate and House of Representatives adjourned sitting.

The adjournment was in view of the death of one of them, Funke Adedyin, who represented Ekiti/Isin/Irepodun/Oke-ero Federal Constituency of Kwara State in the House of Representatives.

Adedoyin died on September 28 at the age of 56.
