Students have critical roles to play in making their institutions great, the Provost of Michael Otedola College of Primary Education, MOCPED, Dr. Nosiru Olajide Onibon, has declared.

He made the declaration on Wednesday at the matriculation of no fewer than 600 new students for 2018/2019 academic session in the institution.

Their contribution in the case of MOCPED, he said, should be in being good ambassadors of the institution while in school and even after graduating.

His words:  “To all our students who are matriculating today, as you may be aware, the college slogan is, ‘We are MOCPED, We are great.’

“You students have a big role to play through projecting the good image of the college.

“You are therefore expected to be good ambassadors of the college throughout your stay and beyond.”

Specially, he warned the students to avoid atrocities like involvement in hooliganism, cultism and sexual harassment among others.

“I want to see everyone of you during graduation in the next three years,” he said.

He gave assurance that the students would enjoy learning in the school as adequate measure had been put in place to ensure that.

He commended Lagos State government, under the leadership of Governor Akinwunmi Ambode, for the funding of the college.

He said the government had been very supportive through the reduction of school fees and the subsidy offered.

He also expressed appreciation to members of the academic board members, the admission committee, unions and all the staff of the college.

According to him, they had contributed immensely to the success story.
