The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB, has advised candidates on how to check the results of the 2019 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, UTME.
The advice followed the release of the result of the examination on Saturday.
According to the JAMB Registrar, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, candidates should send ‘RESULT’ to 55019, on the mobile phone with which they registered for the examination.
Alternatively, he said, they could visit JAMB result checking portal: http://www.jamb.org.ng/eFacility/CheckUTMEResults.
The candidates he said, would be required to enter their JAMB Registration Number/Email Address in the column provided.
They are to click on ‘Check My Results’ and after which the portal will load the result if ready.
He noted that the UTME results would be released in batches.
According to him, if the portal returns with ‘You Do Not Have Any Result Yet’, it means that the result is not yet read.
In that case, the candidate would be required to check back.
The result was released on Saturday after a long period of suspense.
In the past few years, results were released few hours after the examination.
However, owing to the need to ensure that those who were involved in malpractices in the last examination were fished out, the board said it had conducted a thorough screening.
The 2019 examination was held from April 11 to April 18 with over 1.8 million candidates registered.
