Former governor of Ekiti State, Ayo Fayose, has warned the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina, to be ready to face dire consequences if he attacks him.

Fayose gave the warning in obvious reaction to the mention made of him by Adesina in his article titled ‘Wike vindicates Buharists’ last week.

Adesina, in the article accused Fayose of forming a tag team with Wike to attack the president at some point.

He said but for the maturity of President Muhammadu Buhari, the duo would have been dealt with directly or indirectly.

The article reads in part: “If not for the maturity, and the avuncular attitude of President Buhari to all state governors, it would have been easy for one to conclude that he and Wike were enemies. Forsworn ones.

“There was also the then Ekiti State Governor, Ayo Fayose, who had formed a tag team with Wike in the anti-Buhari tendency. The President could have dealt with them in many ways, either overtly or covertly, but he let them be. He was a father ready to tolerate his many children, irrespective of their differing idiosyncrasies, propensities and predilections.”

But in his reaction on his Twitter handle on Sunday, Fayose warned Adesina to spare him.

He said attacking him would amount to waking a sleeping lion.

His tweets read: “Femi Adesina, do you realize I have been quiet for a while, having concluded that Buhari’s Presidency is deaf and dumb?

“So don’t wake a sleeping lion so as not to be confronted with consequences you can’t contend with.”

Meanwhile, Fayose’s warning has been attended with mockery by some who reacted to his tweet.

One Murtala Chinade wrote: “@GovAyoFayose Oga keep quiet! You’re a perpetual sleeping cat. Which kin lion dey enter sefia pains for inside his jungle?”

One Musa Ahmed also tweeted: “@GovAyoFayose STOP bragging Sir. A LION can’t be seen crying, nagging and whining profusely like you did here. STOP it!”

Gbenga Odu however expressed support for Fayose: “@GovAyoFayose You don’t need to be quiet, they are there doing nothing and they will feel they are the best. Please I want to hear you always.”

Valentine I Ubah tweeted: “@GovAyoFayose Peter why responding to someone we all know was just a house boy to a stack illiterate mallam.”
