Ekiti: Why gov recalls immediate past Commissioner for Health

The governor of Ekiti State, Mr Biodun Oyebanji, has recalled the immediate past Commissioner for Health and Human Services, Dr. Oyebanji Filani.

The recall, is said to be in view of the sensitive nature of some of the projects and initiatives currently being executed by the ministry.

The recall was with immediate effect.

Abiodun Oyebanji was sworn as the new governor of Ekiti State on Sunday.

He took over from Dr. Kayode Fayemi, whose tenure expired midnight of Saturday.

The swearing in was carried out by the Chief Judge of Ekiti State, Oyewole Adeyeye.

64-year-old Chief Monisade Christiana Afuye was also sworn in as the deputy governor of the state.

It would be recalled that 54 years old Oyebanji, candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, won the June 18, 2022 election in the state.

Under Fayemi’s administration, Oyebanji served as the Secretary to the State Government and Chief of Staff to the Governor.
