Boko Haram: What Buhari told Hauwa Liman’s father on phone

President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday spoke on phone with Mr. Mohammad Liman, father of Hauwa who was killed by the terrorist group, Boko Haram, on Monday.

Hauwa was an aid worker of the International Committee of the Red Cross, ICRC, kidnapped along with others by the terrorists when they invaded Rann in Borno, North East of Nigeria.

Expressing his condolence during the call, Buhari described as sad, the killing of Hauwa who was only helping the victims of insurgency.

The president explained that the government did all it could to ensure the release of Hauwa Liman and others, to no avail.

The president also spoke with the president of the ICRC, Peter Maurer.

He commiserated with the group, while praising it for the invaluable services rendered to victims of insurgency in the country.

He urged ICRC not to give up on the good work despite the loss.

According to him, Nigeria needed their services so much.

He however assured that adequate security measures would be put in place for them.
