The former head of Nigeria’s Pension Reform Task Force, Abdurasheed Maina, has been granted N1 billion bail by the Federal High Court, Abuja Division.
Maina who was charged to court over alleged money laundering by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, was granted the bail on Monday.
He was ordered to provide two sureties in the sum of N500 million each and that they must have landed properties in either Maitama or Asokoro District of Abuja.
The bail followed an application to that effect by Maina’s counsel, Ahmed Raji.
Justice Okon Abang granted the bail on a compassionate ground.
His lawyer had requested for the bail to enable Maina attend to his health.
The court ordered him to deposit his passports.
