2,500 people to benefit from Oyo free medical services

No fewer than 2,500 people will benefit from a five-day free medical services in Oyo State, starting from Monday.

The one week programme is sponsored by Oyo State Government in collaboration with Access to Basic (Medical) Care Foundation and Jesus House Mission, U.K.

The programme will hold at selected ABC clinics across the state.

Making the announcement, the State Commissioner for Information, Culture and Tourism, Mr. Toye Arulogun, said the programme would bring free medical services closer to the people.

He stressed that the government was targeting 500 people daily for the programme.

Arulogun disclosed that the medical services to be provided include blood pressure checks, BMI assessment, and laboratory tests including HIV, tuberculosis, malaria, PSA, random blood sugar, typhoid and cholesterol.

He said that the other medical services are general clinical consultations, free medications, minor day case surgical procedures and specialist clinical consultations including gynaecology, ophthalmology, dental, paediatrics and cardiologist.

Arulogun stated that the free health programme would  hold at ABC Clinic, Aleshinloye, Ibadan South West on Monday, October 29; ABC Clinic Iwo Road, Ibadan North East Local Government on Tuesday, October 30; ABC Clinic, Omi Adio, Ido Local Government on Wednesday, October 31; ABC Clinic Ilora, Afijio Local government on Thursday, November 1; and ABC Clinic, Lanlate, Ibarapa East Local Government on Friday, November 2.
