The Governor of Delta State, Ifeanyi Okowa, has predicted that he would have an easy win in the 2019 governorship election in Delta State.

This, he said, was as a result of the All Progressives Congress, APC, choice of Chief Great Ogboru as its governorship candidate.

Okowa’s position was expressed by his media aide, Mr. Ossai Ovie, in an interview with journalists in Asaba on Tuesday.

He said the achievements of Okowa’s administration, even in Ogboru’s local government had reduced whatever remained of his (Ogboru) popularity.

His words:  “The greatest mistake made by the All Progressives Congress (APC) is the choice of Chief Great Ogboru as governorship candidate. The achievements of the Delta State Governor, Sen. Ifeanyi Okowa, in Chief Great Ogboru local government, Ethiope East, has diminished his popularity.

“As at today, Ogboru cannot even win Students Union Government (SUG) in Delta State University Abraka   Election, not to talk of Governorship Election in Delta State.

“The truth be told, Ogboru has never won an election in Delta State since he ventured into politics and 2019 won’t be different because he is embarking on an already lost battle.”

He added that the “incumbent Governor Sen. Ifeanyi Okowa is not just a governor but a governor of inestimable value who has constructed over 250 roads, empowered over 40,000 youths, built schools,  hospitals,  bridges and more despite financial challenges.”
