The executive committees of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Ogun and Imo states have been dissolved.

The decision affects the state, local government and ward executive committees.

The decision was take on Tuesday during the meeting of the National Working Committee, NWC, held in Abuja.

The meeting was presided over by the National Chairman of the APC, Adams Oshiomhole.

Although no statement was made after the meeting, it was gathered that the decision was in view of the crisis in the state over the choice of governorship candidates ahead of the 2019 elections.

It would be recalled that the candidates approved for both Ogun and Imo states for the governorship contest by the NWC were different from those approved by the different governors.

While the NWC approved Dapo Abiodun for Ogun State, Governor Ibikunle Amosun is supporting Adekunle Akinlade.

Amosun’s candidate has since moved to Allied People’s Movement, APM.

The governor who remains in APC has, however, vowed to work against the candidate of his party.

In the same vein, Rochas Okorocha is in support of his son in law, Uche Nwosu, for the post while the name of Senator Hope Uzodimma was submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, by the party.

Nwosu has also defected to Action Alliance where he would run for the post.
