The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has given reasons for its rejection of the results of the presidential election being announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, in Abuja.
The leading opposition party, at a press conference addressed by its National Chairman, Prince Uche Secondus, in Abuja, said the results being announced by INEC were incorrect.
He claimed that the figures did not correspond with that of the PDP as they had been tampered with.
It also accused INEC of being under pressure.
The party alleged that INEC worked hand in hand with security agencies to perpetrate electoral fraud at the different polling centres across the country to favour the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.
He said at the appropriate time, facts would be released to support PDP’s position on the results of the presidential election.
His words: “Our collation centres have the original results from all the polling units in the country. That is from where are going to reclaim our results.
“The results are incorrect and unacceptable to our party. Officials of the APC working with INEC have decided to alter results to affect our people. This must now be resisted by every well-meaning Nigerian.
“INEC must live up to its responsibility. They are under pressure. We have the facts and when the time comes, we begin to release them.”
