WEATHER FORECAST: Cloudy, dust hazy weather prevail on Wednesday –NiMet

The Nigerian Meteorological Agency, NiMet, predicted cloudy to partly cloudy and dust haze weather conditions with localised thunderstorms over most parts of the country for Wednesday.

NiMet’s Weather Outlook on Tuesday in Abuja predicted partly cloudy to cloudy morning with prospects of hazy condition over the central states in the afternoon.

It also predicted dust haze over Jos, Kaduna, Minna, Abuja, Gombe and Bauchi and visibility range of two to five kilometres with day and night temperatures of 28 to 38 and 21 to 27 degrees Celsius.

The agency predicted that Northern states would experience dust haze conditions with localised visibility range of two to five kilometres and visibility less than 1000m.

It further predicted that the region would have day and night temperatures in the range of 35 to 39 and 22 to 27 degrees Celsius.

According to NiMet, Southern states will experience partly cloudy to cloudy morning and thunderstorm over Port-Harcourt and Calabar with day and night temperatures of 30 to 34 and 22 to 25 degrees Celsius.

“In the afternoon and evening, scattered thunderstorms are expected over Akure, Shaki, Ado-Ekiti, Lagos, Ijebu-Ode, Enugu, Umuahia, Port-Harcourt, Calabar, Warri, Eket and Yenagoa.

“There is fresh dust raised which is expected to be transported. Due to this, dust haze condition is anticipated over northern and part of central states.

“There are slim chances of scattered thunderstorm over the coastal cities within the next 24 hour.”
