The Muslim Media Practitioners of Nigeria, MMPN, has launched a N5 million endowment fund in honour of former Saturday Editor, New Telegraph newspapers, Alhaji Waheed Bakare.
Bakare died penultimate Sunday after a brief illness leaving behind his mother, wife and four children.
Appealing for donations, MMPN, said the fund would be used to support the education of the children of the deceased.
The group plans to meet the target within one week.
“Our target is to raise the sum of N5 million on or before Tuesday, June 9, 2020.
“We consider this as a form of Sadaqatul Jaariyah,” the group said.
