The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB, has said that the results of underage candidates who sat for the ongoing Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, UTME, have not been released.
When they check their results like other candidates, what they would at the moment see is “No Result Yet”.
The Public Communication Advisor of JAMB, Dr Fabian Benjamin, made this known in a press statement issued on Tuesday in Abuja.
He said the explanation became necessary in view of enquiries by parents on candidates whose results were displaying “No Result Yet.”
His words: “Please be informed that results for underage candidates have not been released. When such candidates attempt to check their results, the system will return the message “No Result Yet.”
“As stipulated by regulation, only candidates who will be at least 16 years old by 30th September 2026 are eligible to register for and sit the UTME. However, underage candidates may be considered under the exceptional category, provided they demonstrate outstanding ability by scoring 320 and above in the UTME and attaining at least 80% in subsequent screening stages.”
He said in line with the agreement reached and endorsed by parents of the underage candidates, only those who scored 320 and above would be shortlisted and invited to proceed to the next stages of the screening.
Successful candidates at that stage, he said, might then be considered for admission under the exceptional candidates provision.
“For now, results for underage candidates remain unreleased,” he said.
