Nigerian-New Zealander, Israel Omobolaji Adesanya, known as Styleblender, is the new Ultimate Fight Championship (UFC) middleweight champion after he defeated Robert Whittaker in Melbourne Australia in the early hours of Sunday.

The new world middleweight champion, Israel Omobolaji Adesanya, proved he’s worthy of the glory of the match early this morning as he knocked out Robert Whittaker in the second round of their blockbuster main-event clash at UFC 243 in Melbourne Australia to unify the new middleweight world title.

Robert Whittaker was saved by the bell at the end of first round, after the styleblender forced him to the mat in the final second as the clock ticked away.

But the Australian wasn’t favoured in the second stanza, when Adesanya caught Whittaker lunging and put him away with a crisp counter combination that lay him down and instantly forced the referee to step in.

Whittaker was originally slated to defend his title against Kelvin Gastelum at the UFC 234 pay-per-view, but later pulled out.

Robert Whittaker, the former UFC champion, was on a nine-fight win heading to his next game but he was defeated in early morning of Sunday by an origin of Ogun State.

The mixed martial artist and kickboxer is the former Glory middleweight contender winner and king in the ring, two-times cruiserweight and heavyweight champion.

The 30-year-old Israel is currently 14 in the UFC pound-for-pound ranking and with this latest achievement he moves up the ladder.
