Two armed robbery suspects caught in the act in Ogun

Two armed robbery suspects were on Sunday arrested by men of Ogun State Police Command at Olambe area of Akute in Ifo local government area of Ogun State.

The two suspects, 27 years old Lukman Olanrewaju and 28 years old Shola Alabi were arrested following a distress call received by the Divisional Police Officer, Ajuwon divisional headquarters, SP Andrew Akinseye, at about 5 p.m. of the date.

The police boss was informed that three-man armed robbery gang was operating at Olambe area, and that they had shot one commercial motorcyclist who was later identified as Anas Usman and snatched his motorcycle.

Upon the distress call, the police officer led his men to the scene and with collaboration of the So Safe Corps, two amongst the robbers were arrested.

Recovered from them are, one cut to size locally made gun, two live cartridges and the snatched motorcycle.

The victim was quickly taken to the hospital for treatment, while effort was said to be on to apprehend the remaining member of the gang.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police CP Edward Awolowo Ajogun, was said to have ordered the immediate transfer of the suspects to state criminal investigation and intelligence department for discreet investigation and diligent prosecution.
