Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, Ogun Command, says three persons lost their lives in an accident involving a truck and a Bajaj motorcycle on Lagos-Ibadan Expressway on Wednesday.

FRSC Sector Commander in the state, Mr Ahmed Umar, told the News Agency of Nigeria, NAN, in Ota, Ogun State, that the accident occurred at about 1.15 p.m. at Mile 12 Market, Ogere.

Umar explained that a truck, with no registration number, lost control due to excessive speeding and rammed into a motorcycle, marked LAR 250 AV, thus killing the three occupants instantly, with one other sustaining injury while another person came out unhurt.

The sector commander added that there were five persons on the motorcycle when the driver of the truck hit them and zoomed off, adding that it was a hit-and-run incident.

“The corpses of the dead were taken away for burial by the Hausa people at Ogere, while the survivor was taken to an undisclosed hospital for treatment,” he said.

The FRSC boss, who blamed the cause of the incident on excessive speeding, urged motorists to reduce their speed and shun reckless driving to avoid unnecessary loss of lives.

He commiserated with the families of the accident victims and prayed God to grant them the fortitude to bear the losses.
