Flatbed trailers carrying containers without proper latching will henceforth be immediately impounded if sighted on the roads by patrol teams.
The order to do that was given by the Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety, Boboye Oyeyemi.
He noted with concern the continuous carriage of containers without proper latching.
According to the Corps Public Education Officer, FRSC, Mr. Bisi Kazeem, Oyeyemi added that the corps would partner with NPA to ensure that such vehicles would not be allowed to leave the ports until they must have properly latched the containers to enhance their safety while in transit.
It would be noted that crashes involving containers carrying trailers have been on the increase lately, leading to loss of lives.
