Three suspected Yahoo boys have been arrested by the police in Ogun State for allegedly gang-raping an 18 years old (name withheld).
The suspects are 22 years old Tunde Sadiq Taiwo, 20 years old Damilola Adesina, and 21 years old Adegoke Amos.
They were arrested on December 5, 2020 following a report by the victim at Ilese divisional headquarters, Ijebu Ode.
The victim said that while she was going somewhere around Ita Ale area of Ilese Ijebu, she was accosted by three young men who rode in a Lexus ES 350 car and blocked her.
She said they forcefully dragged her into the car and drove her to Rationwa area where they took turns to rape her at gun point.
On the strength of the report, the DPO, Ilese division, SP Yakubu Bala, mobilised his detectives and stormed their hideout where one of the suspects was arrested.
The arrested one led the police to the other two and they were subsequently arrested.
On interogation, they confessed to gang-raping the victim.
The claimed to have believed that the police were no longer working hence they could do anything they liked.
They said they were however surprised when police came after them.
The Commissioner of Police, Edward Awolowo Ajogun, has ordered the immediate transfer of the suspects to state criminal investigation and intelligence department for further investigation and prosecution.
The CP also warned that those criminals who had the erroneous belief that police had been subdued would meet their waterloo in no distance time.
