A non-political pressure group, desirous of egalitarian, just and safe society, the Christian Conscience, has commended the on-going military efforts in the war against terrorism.
This is as the group described the effort as impactful and highly commendable.
It therefore urged the military to sustain the trend to bring terrorism to an end
Rising from its monthly meeting on Sunday in Lagos, the group, in a press statement jointly signed by the National Chairman, Dr (Mrs) Yetunde Akinluyi and National General Secretary, Rev. Dr Kolawole Verrals, said: “The lingering efforts of these terrorists have contributed to shortage of foods , high cost of living in the country and hindered movements of people, goods and services. When farmers and all partakers in food chain are or can be harmed , how will food be available to all, the group wondered?
“Now that the military high command has responded positively to the body language of the president, we believe better days are ahead because there have been too much shedding of innocent blood in the country.”

On the issue of the lingering strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, the group commended the president for stepping in but admonished all concerned to be fair, just and committed so as to bring an end to the crisis.
“The intervention of the president should be towards a logical and result oriented conclusion.
“This is a call to our political, traditional and opinion leaders to do more and put pressure on both the government and the union to end the staying at home of the students,” the group said.
“We pray and urge President Buhari to ensure there is an end to the strike as soon as possible so that our children can go back to school and also redeem the image of the educational sector,” the group added.
The group also reiterated its call on political parties to ensure their campaigns were issue-based.
