A petrol tanker explosion in Lagos on Thursday killed two people, leaving five vehicles burnt.

The explosion occurred at Barracks Bus Stop, along Mile 2 on Badagry Expressway when a 33,000 litre fuel tanker fell.

The affected vehicles were driven into the spilling contents of the tanker and caught fire.

The two victims of the explosion were burnt beyond recognition while others in some of the other cars escaped.

The News Agency of Nigeria, NAN, quoted the Director of Lagos State Fire Service, Mr. Musibau Rasaki, as confirming the disaster.

His words: “Two persons were burnt to death, one other person sustained injury and was taken to the hospital. Five vehicles were also burnt, including the tanker.”
