The Eagles defeated their Libyan counterpart 4-0 in the match that was played at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, on Saturday.

He said that knowing that the Libyan team could be a hard nut to crack, his team prepared well for the match.

According to Rohr who spoke with journalists shortly after the match, although the first half was a little difficult, with confidence and determination, the Eagles overcame the Libyans overwhelmingly.

Said he:  “Though the game was not easy in the first half, we did well in the second half. We built confidence which gave us victory.

“Apart from the four goals win, which was not easy, I am very happy for the coming back of Odion Ighalo. He had been criticised in the social media.

“I am happy that he gave the critics the answer on the pitch through his hat trick.”

With the victory over Libya, the Eagles now occupy the second position in its group.

Odion Ighalo whom the coach was pleased with scored three of the goals.

While he scored the first in the first half through a penalty kick, the second and third came in the second half.

Samuel Kalu crowned the Super Eagles’ efforts with the fourth goal.

The victory which is celebrated in the country came just two days after the agony of a country which experienced an earthquake that killed 21 people on Thursday.

This much was said by Prime Minister Shinzo Abe.

In a tweet, he thanked Osaka for “giving Japan a boost of inspiration at this time of hardship.”

The Japanese star, Osaka defeated Williams 6-2 6-4 on Saturday.

With a sense of humility, Osaka spoke at the podium as she received the trophy:  “I know everyone was cheering for her and I’m sorry it had to end like this.

“I just want to say thank you for watching the match.”
