The Oyo State chapter of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria, SWAN, has partnered a real estate firm, Baron Akintunde Opaleye and Company, on the actualisation of the proposed SWAN Village in Ibadan, Oyo State capital.

The partnership was sealed during a meeting between the firm and the leadership of  Oyo SWAN led by its chairman, Mr. Niyi Alebiosu.

The meeting featured the presentation of land documents of three plots of land to Oyo SWAN by Chief Akintunde Opaleye, the chief executive officer of the company.

Opaleye, who is also the state chairman of Amateur Boxing Association, had handed the documents to SWAN to redeem his earlier pledge to the association, stating that the land gift was to appreciate the support he and his association enjoyed from SWAN.

He said, “I am using this opportunity to present to SWAN half an acre of land at Alata area of Oluyole local government in Oyo State which I promised them during their SWAN week last year.

“It is in fulfillment of that promise that I am presenting the land documents to you today,” he said.

He added that his firm was also partnering SWAN on the acquisition of another piece of land for the SWAN Village project, promising that the project would start soon.

“We are also partnering SWAN on the acquisition of a piece of land that will be designed into residential layout and named SWAN Village at Oluyole local government.

This is going to start very soon and in a matter of days. So, we are already entering into agreement and signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU),” he said.

Alebiosu, in his remarks, lauded Opaleye for fulfilling his promise to the association, pledging more support for him and his association.

He appreciated the gift and assured that all necessary steps would be taken to ensure a smooth partnership on the acquisition of land for the SWAN Village project, disclosing that a committee of SWAN  would meet with the firm’s team to finalise the partnership process towards its actualisation.
