The House of Representatives has ordered a probe into the invasion of the Federal High Court, Abuja, by the Department of State Services, DSS, on Friday, in the process of re-arresting Mr. Omoyele Sowore.

Sowore is the Convener of the Revolution Now, a protest organised against the federal government.

The order for a probe followed the approval of the motion to that effect by the House Minority Leader, Ndudi Elumelu.

Elumelu described the invasion as a violation of the sanctity of the court.

He said if the excess was not curbed, it could spell doom for the country.

He warned that a situation whereby an arm of government was attempting to overpower another was intolerable.

At the end of the debate, it was decided that the relevant committees of the House should carry out a probe.

It would be recalled that there was chaos at the Federal High Court, Abuja, when operatives of the DSS were trying to re-arrest Sowore, who was released less than 24 hours earlier.

The DSS has denied invasion of the court, saying the scene shown in the videos that went viral was a drama by Sowore and his supporters.
