Restructuring the country and changing the constitution are not the solution to Nigeria’s numerous problems, the presidential candidate of the New Nigeria People’s Party, NNPP, Rabiu Kwankwaso, has declared.
He said rather, good leadership would bring an end to the problems facing the country.
Kwankwaso made his position known on Sunday at the Editors’ Forum organised by the Nigerian Guild of Editors, NGE, and held in Ikeja, Lagos State.
According to him, no matter how hard anyone might try, without good leadership, the problems facing the country would remain.
His words: “No good thing can happen in the country without a good leader. Even restructuring cannot take us anywhere if we do not have a good leader. The problem is not the constitution, but the operators.”
The former governor of Kano State however assured that his party would provide the required good leadership in 2023.
He said with good leadership to be provided by his party, an end would be put to Nigeria’s tale of woes.
He posited that Nigerians were tired of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, and the leading opposition party, Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and were already embracing NNPP.
“The country is not on the right path and need change. Our blueprint is to address problems and proffer solution. Nigerians are tired of APC and PDP. Between now and January, there will be clearer picture on who will win the presidential election,” Kwankwaso declared.
Stressing that his party was making progress, he said he was sure of victory in the coming election.
He said there would not be a rerun in the presidential election as, according to him, he would win at the first ballot.
While he emphasized that his party would not merge with any other, Kwankwanso, said that he would not step down for anyone.
He added: “Nigerians are demanding for change and showing a lot of love and commitment to our ideals. Anybody who believes in earning a decent living is a member of Kwankwasiya.”
