Dare devil armed robbers in the early hours of Saturday engaged operatives of Ogun State Police Command in a gun battle.
The battle occurred at Ipamesan area of Sango Ota in Ogun State and one of the robbers was arrested.
According to the spokesman of the police command, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, the encounter followed a distress call received by the Divisional Police Officer, DPO, Sango ota divisional headquarters, that robbers were operating at Ipamesan area, and that they had already burgled a warehouse in the area.
Upon the distress call, the DPO, CSP Godwin Idehai, quickly mobilised his patrol team, and moved to the scene.

On getting to Joju area of Sango, and realising the determination of the patrol team to subdue them, they decided to engage the policemen in gun battle.

The team pursued them, and one of the robbers, later identified as Henry Obe, was arrested.
It was later discovered that the hoodlums had shot a guard attached to a warehouse owned by one Yinka Oduwale before broking into the said warehouse and looted it.
The guard was rushed to the hospital, where he was confirmed dead.
