A 42 years old man, Olayinka Adetunji,  has raised an alarm, over threat to his life by people suspected to be armed robbers in Ikorodu, in Lagos State and Ibadan, the  Oyo state capital.

Adetunji who said he and his family members had been living in fear and worries since March this year raised the alarm on Thursday when speaking with journalists in Ibadan.

He said he had been receiving threat messages and calls from people he suspected to be armed robbers, urging security agencies in the two states to come to his aid with adequate security.

While narrating his ordeal, he said trouble started when some people attacked his house in Ikorodu and he fled to Ibadan.

According to him,  he was worried that after leaving Lagos, the people still trailed him to Ibadan where he was also attacked.

He said one of them was however caught.

He added that he had been receiving threat messages and calls since the incident.

His words:  “On 3rd March 2019 at about 02:00 a.m., I was in my house together with my wife, Adenike Esther Adetunji and children Nancy Ann Adetunji, Jeslyn Ayanfeoluwa Adetunji and Hans Mofeoluwa Adetunji, when a gang of armed robbers entered our house.

“My German shepherd dog which normally  alerted the household first was locked up after which they gained access into our apartment despite strident calls to neighbours and securities. They harassed my wife and children, collected valuables before they realised that the security men were close by.

“I was lucky to sneak out to release the dog and managed to pick up a cutlass and machetted one of the robbers while others ran away. One of them was caught by men of the vigilante, dealt with and eventually passed out before the arrival of the police.

“I was rushed to the hospital for medical attention as I sustained internal injuries. Unfortunately, the incident has led to several threats to my life by the robbers determining to revenge the death of one of them that was killed. This then forced me to relocate to Ojo, Ibadan, for safety and  protection by the police who have been doing wonderfully to arrest them.

“Ever since, my family and I have been on the run watching our back and sleeping with one eye open as the gang has been trailing us.  We have been receiving several threat messages everywhere we go from the robbers.”
