The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, on Thursday issued a time table for activities aimed at resolving the crisis over the governorship election in Rivers State.

It would be recalled that electoral processes were stopped at collation stage in Rivers following widespread violence.

Efforts to resolve the crisis since March 10 has been unsuccessful.

The schedule was issued by the Commissioner for Information and Voter Education, INEC, Mr. Festus Okoye, at a press briefing in Abuja.

He said INEC had already met with major actors in the state while an inter-agency meeting between the commission and other relevant agencies would hold on March 29 in Rivers State.

According to him, the commission would have another meeting with actors and that would be followed by a guideline for the continuation of the process.

While the revalidation of observers would be done simultaneously in Abuja and Rivers State between March 25 and March 31, the collation of results would hold from April 2 to April 5.

At the end of the collation exercise, if there is need for a supplementary election INEC said, it would be held on April 13 while the result would be announced on April 15.

The certificate of return, the commission said, would be issued on April 19.
