The police in Lagos State have arrested five persons in connection with stealing of female under wears for suspected ritual purposes.
The suspects were arrested on Friday by operatives of Ojo Police Station following a tip off.
The prime suspect is one 15 years old Chukwajekwu Eziigbo of Ilufe area Ojo.
He was reported to have confessed to stealing female under wears from clotheslines for one year from different houses in Ojo and environs.
He was said to have confessed to usually handing them over to the other suspects for payment.
The other suspects are 27 years old Chidima Obietuake; 17 years old Chikwaka Chidima Jemfe; 23 years old Gold Enyinnaya, and 26 years old Akomas Amarachi all of Ilufe area of Ojo, Lagos State.
The additional suspects were said to have been arrested and confessed to committing the crime.
Detectives, according to the spokesman of the Lagos State Police Command, DSP Bala Elkana, recovered some stolen female under wears from the suspects.
Investigation was said to be ongoing, after which they would be charged to court.
Meanwhile, the police prevented a 21 years old student of University of Nigeria, Nsukka, UNN, from committing suicide.
He is one Obasi Augustine Chuckuemeka, of 4, Alaba Street, Ejigbo Last Bus Stop, area of Lagos State.
He was said to have tied a rope in a loop around their living room ceiling fan in preparation for committing suicide because he was scolded by his parents.
Swift response by operatives from Ejigbo Police Station was said to have prevented him from killing himself.
The police were alerted by an officer of Lagos State Neighbourhood Security Corps.
He was rescued and taken to hospital for medical examination.
Investigation was said to be ongoing.
