Corruption in Nigeria and other parts of the world can only be stopped through the resurrection of Jesus Chris, the General Overseer of End Time Revival Gospel Church, Prophet Adegboyega Ajani, has declared.

The pastor made the declaration on Friday while briefing journalists on the state of the nation at the church headquarters, Olowoora, Berger area of Lagos State.

According to him, no amount of efforts by the government would bring an end to corruption except with the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

He said the All Progressive Congress, APC,-led federal government had only been scratching the surface in its anti-corruption war.

He said it was unfortunate that corruption had eaten deep into the fabrics of the society.

Politicians and members of the elite in the society were busy looting the treasury and passing the baton to their children.

Said Ajani: “Corruption is being passed to another generation by their greedy parents who believe that what they are doing is the best; such parents also see it as the best way to secure the future of their children by putting them in their offices to continue the stealing from where they would stop.

“It would be recalled that the United Nations general assembly designated December 9 as International Anti- corruption Day. The resolution was aimed at sensitising people to the danger of corruption which confirms that UN is mindful of its destructive impact on human being and nations.”

Emphasising the resurrection of Chris as a solution, he said corruption should be tackled well, particularly, with the support of religious group.

He said they should preach against it and discourage people from engaging in it also.

“On this note, I am calling on all nations of the world to rise up and stand up together with Jesus Christ in his glory in order to bring about a world without corruption –a New World – according to Daniel Chapter 12 verse 1and 3 and Mathew Chapter 24 verse 27.

“The fall of Adam and Eve was the first corruption commandment release by God Almighty in respect of his assignments to Adam and Eve in the garden of Eden. Unfortunately, they betrayed their creator by eating the forbidden fruit.”

Meanwhile, Reverend Isaac Agboola said pastors and churches had a right to reject tithes if they feel they are from corrupt persons.

He cited the case of Pastor Kumuyi of Deeper Life Church who rejected the gift of a house from a woman, whom he was not sure of her source of wealth.

“Unfortunately, pastors of nowadays will receive the offer gladly and celebrate it. As a church, we have a role to play in educating our members about the danger associated with corruption and the effect on the country,” he said.
