The Director General of President Muhammadu Buhari re-election campaign and Minister of Transport, Rotimi Amaechi, has said that contrary to its claim, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, planned to return to power to steal.
According to him, they were broke and hungry and would allegedly want to return to power to steal.
The minister made the declaration on Saturday at a political rally to receive no fewer than 18 top PDP members in Bauchi who defected to the All Progressives Congress, APC.
Said Amaechi: “They are broke, they are hungry and because they are broke, they are looking for cheap means of fund and we look at them when they say you are hungry.
“They have easily forgotten that they stole $2 billion US Dollars to prosecute 2015 election but we won. We listen to our colleagues at the other divide and say that you are hungry because they stole all the money meant for you.
“We want to assure you that we will not fail you and will never fail you. Bauchi is our traditional state we come to rest not to campaign.
“I was here in 2015 and saw what politicians called mammoth crowd, that is crowd that cannot be counted.”
Also speaking at the occasion, Senator Ali Ndume, said President Muhammadu Buhari had done well in the key areas of security, economy and anti-corruption war.
According to him, the coming election would be an opportunity for Nigerians to choose either “those who have the country at heart or those who will destroy the country.”
