Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, has said he is optimistic that he will win the case challenging the victory of President Muhammadu Buhari at the presidential election.
Atiku expressed the confidence in reply to a question by a reporter on his chances, shortly after he cast his vote in the Governorship and House of Assembly election.
“I have always been very optimistic,” he said.
Atiku berated the use of the military in ensuring security at the general election.
He said he hated the idea of the use of military because “it is absolutely unlawful.”
Atiku was defeated in the February 23 presidential election by Buhari.
Stating that the election was fraught with fraud, he rejected the result and has filed a suit to challenge Buhari’s victory.
His party, PDP, has also stood by him, saying that the results announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, had been tampered with.
