The Police Command in Rivers State is to speak on the arrest of Gracious David-West alleged to be a serial killer in the state.
He was arrested on Thursday by the police on his way to Uyo from Port Harcourt.
The suspect was said to have made some useful statements to the police over the series of killings he was said to have carried out.
News of his arrest was made known in some tweets on Thursday.
The tweets read:
“The notorious serial killer, Gracious David-West was today September 19, 2019, arrested by the @policeNG in Rivers.
“The 26-year old killer from Buguma LGA of Rivers State, who is also a member of the Degbam cult group was arrested along East-West Road en route to Uyo from Port Harcourt. He has since made useful statements to the Police.
“Investigation is on with a view to ascertaining his motives and possible accomplices. The Commissioner of Police Rivers State, CP Mustapha Dandaura will be briefing the media on this significant Police breakthrough tomorrow, September 20, 2019.”
No fewer than eight young women were killed in different hotels within a period of two months in the state.
They were separately found to have been strangled with a piece of white cloth tied around their necks.
The discovery led to the protest staged by different groups in the state over the killings of the young girls in hotels.
