The Police have begun an investigation into the killing of a police corporal by an inspector who later committed suicide at the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Abuja.
A Deputy Superintendent of Police was also injured in shooting by the inspector.
The incident happened at the Police Divisional Headquarters in Dutse Alhaji area of the FCT on Saturday.
The investigation followed the order of the Commissioner of Police in Charge of FCT, Mr Bala Ciroma.
The investigation, it was revealed, was to enable the command put in place measures to prevent a reoccurrence.
In a statement by ASP Mariam Yusuf, the police command said it commiserated with the family of the deceased.
Pledging commitment to security during the festive season, the police advised residents to remain calm.
