Two members of a notorious robbery syndicate terrorising Ogijo and its environs in Ogun State have been arrested by the police in Ogun State.

The suspects, Olaitan Olushola (a.k.a Toshiba) and Oluwajuwon Balogun, were arrested on Sunday during a robbery operation.

The suspects were arrested following a call received at Ogijo divisional headquarters that the gang was operating at Malatori area of Ogijo where they were dispossessing residents of their valuables at gunpoint.

Upon the distress call, the Divisional Police Officer, DPO, Ogijo division, Muhammed Suleimon Baba, quickly led his men to the scene where the two of them were apprehended while others escaped with some of their weapons.

Recovered from the arrested two members of the gang are two battle axes.

Two of their victims, Idowu Kareem and Akinloye Raimi, have identified the duo as members of the syndicate who dispossessed them of their phones at gunpoint.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, Edward Awolowo Ajogun, has ordered the transfer of the suspects to the State Criminal investigation and Intelligence Department for discreet investigation.

The CP also directed that the fleeing members of the gang be hunted for and brought to book, according to the Ogun State Police Command spokesman, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi.
