The presidential candidate of the Labour Party, LP, Mr. Peter Obi, has recorded the highest votes in the presidential election held in Lagos on Saturday.
He beat the All Progressives Congress, APC, candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu to the second position.
The announcement was made on Monday at the end of the collation of results at the Independent National Electoral Commission, Lagos State collation centre in Yaba.
Obi recorded a total of 575,735 votes from nine local governments.
His closest rival, the All Progressives Congress, APC, presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, recorded 573,001 votes, winning in 10 local governments.
The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, presidential candidate in the election, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, recorded 75,750 votes while the presidential candidate of the New Nigeria People’s Party, Rabiu Kwankwaso, recorded 8,8442 votes.
The local governments won by Obi are Ajeromi-Ifelodun; Amuwo-Odofin; Eti-Osa; Ikeja; Kosofe; Oshodi-Isolo; Somolu; Ojo and Alimosho.
Local governments won by Tinubu are Agege; Apapa; Badagry; Epe; Ibeju-Lekki; Ifako-Ijaiye; Ikorodu; Lagos Island; Lagos Mainland and Surulere.
