The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, is still suffering from the trauma of electoral defeat, hence its “saucy and distractive statements” against the Muhammadu Buhari administration, the national leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, has declared.

He therefore appealed to Nigerians not to be angry with the leading opposition.

Tinubu made the appeal on Monday in Makkah, Saudi Arabia, at the breaking of fast with President Muhammadu Buhari who is observing Umrah (lesser hajj).

According to the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu, Tinubu called on Nigerians to therefore help PDP to manage the situation caused by the electoral defeat.

His words: “Don’t blame them. They are handicapped by the traumatic feelings of the colossal loss of the election. You should help them to manage the trauma.”

The former Lagos State governor also appealed to Nigerians to support Buhari administration by avoiding inflammatory statements.

He said the task before the present administration was enormous, and would require concentration.

“The president worked hard and will continue to do so to ensure peace and stability in the country, which are important for the economy to make progress.

“These are the key pegs of his agenda. Let us all come together to support him,” Tinubu was quoted as having said.

Present at the breaking of fast were Nigerian Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Justice Isa Dodo (rtd.); Malam Mamman Daura, Isma’ila Isa; Mr Wale Tinubu and Mr Hakeem P. Fahm, the Commissioner of Science and Technology, Lagos State.

The Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammadu Sa’ad Abubakar III, and Emir of Kazaure, Dr Najib Hussaini Adamu, were also present.
