The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has rejected the verdict of the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal declaring President Muhammadu Buhari as the winner of the February 23, 2019 presidential election.
The rejection by the leading opposition party is contained in a statement issued by its National Publicity Secretary, Mr. Kola Ologbondiyan, on Wednesday.
PDP and its presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, had challenged the victory of Buhari at the presidential election, saying it was full of irregularities.
But in its verdict, the tribunal that looked into the case said Buhari won the election.
In its reaction, PDP, said it would challenge the verdict of the tribunal at the Supreme Court where it said it would get justice.
The party said it was obvious that the verdict had not fulfilled the desires and expectations of Nigerians.
“This is more so as the tribunal itself admitted that there are several errors in the judgment,” the party said.
The National Chairman of the party, Prince Uche Secondus, said the party’s lawyers would study the judgement and take the next necessary action.
