The Administrator of Lagelu Local Council Development Area, LCDA, Hon. Lanre Latinwo, has assured of total upgrading of all the area’s dilapidated public facilities including schools, hospitals, markets, transportation and the environment during the 2022 fiscal year.
The decision is to further boost the economy for the improvement of the living condition of the people of Lagelu West constituency.
Latinwo who assumed office as the council’s helmsman early this month said that Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State had already given a marching order to all political appointees to brace up for the all-round development of the state in line with his administration’s development agenda.
His words: “We would not leave any stone unturned by ensuring that inherited comatose infrastructural facilities, including our roads, drainages, schools and markets among others are upgraded.”
Commending Governor Makinde for the decongestion of the hitherto eye-sore business activities at the Iwo Road/Under Bridge, the council boss assured of the maintenance of the present state of affairs, pledging to ward-off the remnant errant traders and commercial transporters.
While reviewing the outgoing year, Latinwo said priority would be given the relocation of the council’s headquarters from it’s present ‘borrowed’ location to a more befitting LCDA facility.
‘’I’m assuring you today that we’re going to run an all-inclusive government devoid of nepotism while adequate attention is given to education, family health, the less-privileged and our decaying facilities,’’ he said in his new year message.
‘’Equally, we intend to empower people through various platforms, including the cooperative societies, the Community Development Associations, CDAs, and trade unions as part of efforts at boosting our economy,” Latinwo emphasised.
To ensure an all-year-round economic boom as well as protection of same, he hinted of his administration’s plan to facilitate the establishment of a commercial bank in the LCDA and the actualisation of the on-going police station project.
While soliciting the cooperation of all and sundry for the improvement of the LCDA, Latinwo thanked the founding fathers and solicited the cooperation of all and sundry in 2022 and beyond.
