Oyo State government has announced its plans to begin enumeration of properties across the 33 local government and 35 Local Council Development Areas of the state.
The state government added that that would help to have an accurate data base for the issuance of title documents and would expedite the processes of getting land title documents
Commissioner for Lands, Housing and Urban Development, Barrister Abiodun Abdu-Raheem, stated this during a sensitization programme for zonal land officers across the 33 local government and 36 LCDA’s of the state organised by the consultant handling the processing of Certificate of Occupancy (C of O).
Abiodun said enumeration of houses which would last a period of 60 days would provide a comprehensive database of properties in the state, adding that that would help in the speedy issuance of title document.
He called on citizens of the state not to panic when they see enumerators taking the front pictures of their houses, as they would be working under the supervision of the Ministry of Lands, Housing and Urban Development.
The Consultant, Otunba Abiola Odunowo, while speaking on the new modalities of getting land title documents advised citizens of Oyo State with landed properties to apply for the New Home Owners’ Charter which has the same qualities as the C of O and could be processed easily and affordably.
