Eight suspected members of a notorious cult in Lagos, One Million Boys Confraternity, have been arrested by the police.
The suspects were being initiated into the group by one 20 years old Yusuf Abu at 15 Alado Street, Shibiri, when the police swooped on them.
According to the spokesman of the Lagos State Police Command, DSP Bala Elkana, the police operating under Operation Crush, from Ilemba Hausa Police Station, acted on intelligence and arrested the One Million Boys suspects.
The team was led by the Divisional Police Officer of the station, CSP Kazeem Abonde.
“Those arrested are Sunday Gabriel ‘m’ aged 20 yrs of No 7, Owode Baba Water Street, Shibiri; Rilwan Dauda ‘m’ 18 yrs of Ogbokwo Street, Ajegunle; Mohammed Sikiru ‘m’ aged 23 yrs of No 15 Kareem Street, Shibiri; Oladimeji Abayomi ‘m’ aged 18 yrs of No 6 Baale Street, Shibiri; and Rasheed Alabi ‘m’ aged 20 yrs of 49 Bunmi Ajakaye Street, Shibiri.
“Others are Habeeb Idowu ‘m’ aged 18 yrs of No 6 Baale Street, Shibiri; Olaiya Bisola ‘f’ aged 18 yrs of 6 Mosalasi Street, Shibiri and Hazzan Hawawu ‘f’ aged 19 yrs of Zone 6, Orisa Street, Imude,” Elkana revealed.
He added that three sharp cutlasses, a fetish calabash with dangerous “Juju” and weeds suspected to be Indian hemp were recovered from them.
He said the suspects had been charged to court and remanded in prison custody.
