Osun State Council of Traditional Rulers on Friday suspended the Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdulrasheed Akanbi, for six months.

The suspension followed his physical attack on the Agbowu of Ogbagba, Oba Dhikirulahi Olaniran.

Oluwo was also said to have been suspended as a result of his alleged disrespect for Alaafin of Oyo, Alake of Egbaland and Ooni of Ife.

The suspension was announced shortly after an emergency meeting of the Osun State Council of Traditional Rulers chaired by the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi and held at Osun State Government Secretariat, Abere, Osogbo.

A committee was said to have been set up to probe into the cause of the crisis between Oluwo and other traditional rulers in Iwo land.

The committee is chaired by Orangun Ila, Oba Wahab Adedotun.
