Three men have been arrested by the police for vandalising and stealing from the mast of a telecommunications company, MTN.
The three men who were arrested on Saturday at about 6 a.m. are 27 years old Kabiru Olusola; 43 years old Taye Daniel and 47 years old Afeez Balogun years.
They were arrested following a distress call received by policemen attached to Atan Ota divisional headquarters, from one Shuaib Muhammed, the chief security officer of the company in charge of the mast, that some hoodlums numbering about six had invaded the said MTN mast, situated at Ketu along Agbara Expressway.
Upon the distress call, the Divisional Police Officer, D.P.O., Atan Ota division, dispatched his patrol team to the scene where the three suspects were apprehended while others escaped.
Recovered from the suspects, according to the spokesman of the police command in Ogun State, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi are: seven backup batteries valued at N3 million, rectifier module as well as their operational vehicle with registration number AAA 779 XL.
Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, CP Lanre Bankole, has ordered a comprehensive investigation of the case with the view to charging the suspects to court as soon as possible.
He also directed that the escaped members of the gang be hunted for and brought to justice.
