Ogun State Police Command has issued a stern warning against hooliganism and brigandage ahead of the congress of the All Progressives Congress scheduled to hold today.

The warning was issued in a statement by the spokesman of the command, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi.

The Commissioner of Police in the state, Lanre Bankole, is said to have deployed large number of policemen to MKO Abiola Stadium, Kuto, Abeokuta which is the venue of the congress.

Anybody who has no business in and around the venue of the congress, the police said, should not go near the venue.

The police said anybody caught in any act capable of undermining the peace and tranquility being enjoyed in the state, no matter the position or status of such person, would be dealt with decisively.

Parents and guardians are also advised to call their wards to order by counseling them not to allow themselves to be used for political thuggery or engage in hooliganism as such would be viewed with all seriousness.

The Commissioner of Police, while wishing members of the party successful congress, enjoined them to conduct themselves in a peaceful manner and exhibit high sense of sportsmanship.
