No fewer than 15 Occupy Lekki Toll Gate protesters have been arrested by security operatives at the Lekki Toll Gate in Lagos.

The protesters stormed the toll gate area to carry out their threat of occupying the place which witnessed shooting in the wake of the EndSARS protest last year.

Among other things, the protesters are against the “sudden reopening” of the toll gate plaza.

According to an eyewitness, the arrested protesters were hauled into Black Maria and taken to Adeniji Police station.

It would be recalled that the federal and Lagos State government had earlier banned the protest.

At separate press briefings, the Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, and officials of the Lagos State government warned that a violation of the ban by anyone would be met with stiff consequences.

Security operatives have since been deployed to the area to ensure there would not be any protest.
