NYSC: Three 2019 batch B corps members bag state award in Kwara

Three 2019 batch B corps members of the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, in Kwara State, won State Award for distinguishing themselves in the course of the one year national service.

Six others were also recognised with special commendation certificates.

The state award winners are Ige Ayodele (KW/19B/0046), Dauda Azeez (KW/19B/220) and Abdulazeez Olawale. S.(KW/19B/3304).

Speaking for himself and the other award winners, Ayodele thanked the NYSC and Kwara State for giving them the platform to actualise their dreams.

However, 17 members of the outgoing batch, who absconded from national service were sanctioned in line with the bye laws of the scheme to repeat the service year.

In the same vein, four others were also given extension of service , for violating extant rules.

The State Coordinator of NYSC in Kwara State, Mrs Francisca Olaleye, congratulated the outgoing corps members on the successful completion of their national service and wish them huge successes in their future endeavours.

The NYSC boss in the state lauded their efforts in the area of Community Development Service.

“Through the numerous CDS projects executed, the corps members have transformed the socio-economic climate of Kwara State,” she said.

The state coordinator also conveyed the goodwill message of Governor of Kwara State, Mr. Abdulrahman Abdulrazak, to the outgoing corps members.

According to her, “the government and the good people of the state appreciate their selfless services, especially in the fight against the global pandemic.”

Olaleye further charged them to make use of the various skills acquired through the Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development programme of the scheme to contribute their quota to the socio-economic development the country.

Olaleye told the corps members to see the end of the national service as another call to contribute to the development of the nation, by projecting themselves as good ambassadors of the scheme, wherever they might find themselves.

Meanwhile, the distribution of the CNS was done at the various local government secretariats, and was supervised by the state coordinator and management team.

The use of face masks and other measures were fully adhered to by staff and 2019 Batch B Stream 1corps members, that were discharged from service.
