The National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, Ondo State secretariat, has released Certificate of National Service to 1,712 corps members who successfully completed their one year mandatory service to the nation.

The 1712 out-gone corps members of 2018 Batch B (Stream 1) made up of 929 males and 792 females passed out of service on Thursday at low key events in all the eighteen local government areas of the state.

Admonishing the corps members who passed out, the State Coordinator, Mrs. Grace Akpabio, charged them to bring into act, all the practical lessons and trainings they were exposed to right from the orientation camp as regards the Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development, SAED, programme.

Mrs. Akpabio said, “the management of NYSC has invested in your future by gathering together responsible and thoroughbred professionals in various skills and vocations to make your future a guaranteed success.”

The State Coordinator asserted that the service year had provided them with a lifetime opportunity to make a decent living from their sweat and stay away from sharp practices to arrive at the “promised land”.

“The successful captains of industries and board room gurus persevere a lot to get to the zenith of their career. I wish to encourage you to have hope that everything will be okay in the end. A little more effort will get you the desired results. A goal is a dream achieved with prayers, diligence, goal-setting, and following the standards as well as adopting the right attitude,” she said.

The NYSC boss reminded them that Rome was not built in a day and urged them to take one step at a time.

She encouraged them to “focus on those things that will earn you more respect and make you role models that people will be looking forward to emulate and not individuals that when their names are mentioned, people do not have anything to do with them.”

The State Coordinator said that as they exited the scheme, they should remain good ambassadors of their families, various institutions of higher learning that trained them as well as NYSC which had moulded them into better human beings.

“I am proud of your exploits at your various places of primary assignment and the host communities. You are leaving behind you legacies that will stand the test of time and I am confident that fitting into the society will not pose any challenge or threat to you.”

While committing the out-gone members of the service corps into the able hands of God for protection from all the tribulations and afflictions of the world, Mrs. Akpabio wished them the very best in their future endeavours.
