National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, is the only symbol of unity holding Nigeria together as an indivisible entity, the Director, Southwest Area Office, NYSC, Mr. Emmanuel Danjuma Attah, has declared.
The director made the declaration on Thursday when he paid an unscheduled official visit to the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Ikare-Akoko, Ondo State.
Attah who entered the camp unannounced said he was impressed with the organisational ability of the new State Coordinator, Mrs. Victoria Nnenna Ani who she described as excellent Protocol Officer.
“I am quite impressed with what I saw, especially the requirements put in place to observe the Coronavirus pandemic protocol.
“Not only that, the camp environment is neat and well kept and this shows that the State Coordinator and her team have done what they needed to do. I have no doubt that the assessment of the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, will be in tandem with my honest observation.”
While conducting on the spot assessment at the new Camp Clinic constructed by the immediate past state coordinator, Mrs. Grace Akpabio, the director expressed confidence that the new coordinator would complete an
Attah who also visited the kitchen during the inspection and had lunch said:
“Honestly speaking, the meals that are coming from this kitchen which is prepared under strict hygienic conditions are of high quality and tasteful and I am happy with the service.”
At the operating Camp Clinic while interacting with the corps medical personnel, the erstwhile State Coordinator of Taraba and Osun states respectively told the corps members that the Director General had told them all that needed to be said during his virtual meeting monitored across NYSC camps nationwide.
“Gentlemen corps members, the number one corps member in the country, our Director General who is also an Associate Professor of Military University, Biu in Borno State, Brigadier General Shuaibu Ibrahim has spoken as a passionate father would do to his beloved and precious children and there is no point for me to repeat his message.
“However, my advice to you is to link up with your State Coordinator who is fortunately a tested and trusted protocol officer to give you the details of the Director General’s message per adventure you did not capture everything.
“Your State Coordinator is a meticulous and highly cerebral officer who pays attention to every minute detail and I can beat my chest that you will not be disappointed when you request for such information from her,” he said.
Attah said part of the reason why he came as a Chief Host to all corps members deployed to the Southwest geopolitical zone is to welcome the new coordinator whose husband, Ozo Anthony Chinwuba Ani, had impacted much and invested greatly in his life when he was growing up in the scheme.
He prayed for the success of the woman who, he said, had hit the ground running with a touch of protocol professionalism and administrative acumen.
Ani lauded the Director, Southwest Area Office, for always putting in his best to ensure that corps members’ welfare in the zone remained his priority.
She thanked him for the unscheduled visit and promised to continue with the tempo of development in the Ondo State.
